Recitals

Recital Information – New for 2026!

We’re excited to announce that George Guitars will be offering recitals beginning in 2026, with two opportunities each year:

  • Summer 2026
  • December 2026

Both recitals are tentatively planned for the Performing Arts Center at Harrison High School.

Our goal is simple:
make recitals comfortable, encouraging, and FUN.

This is not a rigid or intimidating performance environment – it’s a celebration of progress.

🌟 What Makes Our Recitals Different

We want every student to feel welcome and supported, regardless of experience level.

✔️ All levels encouraged to participate
✔️ Low-pressure, supportive environment
✔️ No competition
✔️ No requirement to be “perfect”

Students will typically perform one solo, and we will also offer a limited number of duos and group numbers for select students.

🎤 Not Comfortable Performing Solo? That’s OK!

We believe participation looks different for every student.

  • Songwriters may choose to be on stage while their song plays via video
  • Instructors can join students on stage if needed
  • For students who aren’t ready to perform, we’ll offer alternative participation options, such as stage support roles

No one is forced into something they’re not ready for.

FAQ

Why is there a recital fee?

Recital fees help cover our up front costs including building fees, staffing fees, and cleaning fees as well as time to prepare each student’s recital music. Each student will only pay ONE recital fee regardless of the number of classes taken or acts performed. This is simply an admin fee to make sure the recital is presented professionally.

How many shows will each recital have?

Right now we are planning to have 2 shows per recital. This will likely be a matinee and evening show on the same day. We will have more details as soon as those dates are confirmed.

Will students perform in both shows?

Not every student will perform in both shows. We have 85 students and it would make the recital way too long if we included everyone in both shows. We will split the recital into two groups, but select students may appear in both shows.

How many performances is a student allowed to do?

Each student is allowed one performance per class. If they take 1 class they will perform one act. If they take 2 classes, they will be allowed 2 acts. All students will only pay ONE recital fee regardless of the number of classes taken.

Can a student perform an additional act?

We will select a few students for additional acts. These will be optional if selected and will be an additional $100 per student per act. These might be solos, duos, trios, or group acts. This fee covers some extra rehearsals and the time needed to prepare the student’s music/presentation.

Can a student perform with a group instead of doing a solo?

If a student wants to be in the recital but isn’t comfortable doing a solo, we will make sure there are options for them to perform. This could include performing with one or more other students, performing with accompaniment tracks, or performing with their instructor.

Do all students have to perform?

Not at all! Recitals are always optional, but we do encourage students to participate. We want to make it comfortable. We will allow students to perform in a way that best suits their needs. For example, songwriters that don’t play an instruments or sing will simply sit on stage with the instructor while a video is played that showcases their created song and lyrics. Students who are unsure about performing solo will be allowed opportunities to perform along with accompaniment tracks, other students, or even their instructors! We want this to be fun and not stressful!

How much are tickets?

Tickets will be on sale online only and will be $15 each per show. Two tickets per student will be included with the $75 recital fee. These can be used for either show but not both. Tickets will be for sale as long as they’re available. The theater seats about 860.
