At George Guitars, we believe learning music should feel personal, fun, and flexible – never a one-size-fits-all course. That’s why we’ve added online private lessons using our Band app, our social media style app that lets us teach just like we do in person. Instead of canned pre-recorded classes, the student gets a real back-and-forth with us every week: they send a short video showing their practice, and we send a personal response with feedback, encouragement, and the next step forward. Lessons are the same monthly cost as our in person lessons. It’s the same energy, interaction, and laughter you’d get in our studio – just without the drive time and scheduling.
🎶 How It Works
1. Sign Up Online
Start by filling out our quick Registration Form and view our Student Onboarding packet!
2. Join the Band App
This is the same app we use for all class communication, so you may already have it downloaded. If not, here’s the link!
3. First Lesson Video
We’ll send the first video to kick off your lessons. You’ll receive the lesson through a private chat session in Band.
4. Student Video
Each week, record a 5 – 15 minute practice video in your channel (we suggest Monday – Wednesday). Don’t worry about perfection – mistakes are welcome!
5. Teacher Feedback
We’ll send back a 5 – 15 minute personalized feedback video to you… usually Thursday – Sunday.
6. Weekly Lesson Cycle
One lesson = 1 teacher video and 1 video student each week.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this private?
Yes! Each student has their own private chat thread that only you, your child, and Leslie & Randall can see. Other families cannot view your videos.
Q: How long should the videos be?
Teacher videos are usually 5 – 15 minutes. Student replies are also typically 5 – 15 minutes
Q: What if we miss a week?
No problem – videos stay in your private chat thread so your child can catch up anytime.
Q: What if we miss an in-person lesson?
No problem! If you can’t make it to your in-person session, you can substitute that week’s lesson with an online lesson through our Band app. We’ll send you a personalized video and you’ll still send back your practice video, just like our regular online students. That way, you never miss a week of learning and progress keeps moving forward.
Q: What devices work with the Band app?
iPhone, iPad, Android phones/tablets, Chromebooks (via Chrome browser), PCs, and Macs.
Q: Do we have to pay extra for the Band app?
Nope! Band is a free app. Your normal George Guitars lesson tuition covers everything!
