Studio Policies

🎸 George Guitars Studio Policies

At George Guitars, our goal is to provide consistent, high-quality instruction while keeping scheduling clear, fair, and sustainable for everyone. The following policies help us protect lesson quality, instructor time, and a positive learning environment.

🎵 Lesson Format

  • All lessons are one-on-one, 30-minute weekly classes.
  • Lessons are scheduled as recurring weekly appointments.
  • Teaching hours are 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM on scheduled teaching days.

💳 Tuition & Billing

  • Tuition is billed monthly, not per lesson.
  • Monthly tuition reserves a student’s weekly lesson time and includes:
    •  Instruction
    • Studio resources
    • Scheduling consistency
    • Built-in breaks and enrichment materials
  • Tuition Rates:
    • $125 per month for one class
    • $100 per month per class for families enrolled in multiple classes
  • Some months include five lesson weeks, and all five weeks are included at no additional charge.
  • Tuition does not fluctuate based on:
    • the number of weeks in a month
    • holidays
    • student absences

🧾 Payments & Late Fees

  • Payments are due on the 1st of each month.
  • A $10 late fee will be applied to payments more than 7 days past due.

🎓 EFA (Educational Freedom Account) Students

  • Tuition for EFA students is billed on the 15th of each month for the upcoming month.
  • Invoices must be submitted through the Class Wallet portal immediately after billing.
  • The State of Arkansas typically takes 1–3 weeks to process and release EFA payments.
  • Prompt submission helps ensure lessons continue without interruption.

This billing schedule allows us to account for state processing timelines while maintaining consistent instruction.

📅 Scheduled Breaks & Closed Dates

Tuition includes the following planned closures each year. No makeup lessons are offered for these dates.

Full Weeks Off (No Lessons):

  • Spring Break
  • Thanksgiving Week
  • Christmas Week
  • New Year’s Week

Single-Day Closures (No Lessons):

  • Memorial Day
  • Labor Day
  • July 4th
  • Halloween

These dates are built into tuition to allow families and instructors to enjoy holidays without scheduling conflicts.

🎁 Take-Home Lessons During Breaks

During some scheduled breaks, students may receive a take-home enrichment lesson (video or worksheet).

  • These lessons are optional and low-pressure.
  • They are not makeup lessons.
  • Submission is not required.

🔁 Missed Lessons & Absences

  • If a student misses a lesson without notice (no-show), the lesson is forfeited. No makeup lesson, take-home lesson, credit, or refund is provided.
  • If a student provides at least 12 hours’ notice:
    • A take-home lesson (video or worksheet) will be provided.
    • Makeup lessons are not automatically scheduled.
  • Missed lessons are not refundable or transferable.

🗓️ Makeup Lessons

  • In-person makeup lessons are limited.
  • Makeup lessons may be offered only when:
    • The instructor initiates the change, or
    • Special circumstances are approved in advance.
  • Approved makeup lessons are completed in person unless the student prefers a video or worksheet lesson.

🌧️ Inclement Weather

  • Weather-related closures or changes will be communicated through the Band App.
  • Families should not assume lessons are canceled unless officially notified through this app.

📲 Communication

  • All studio communication is handled through the Band App, including:
    • scheduling updates
    • lesson materials
    • announcements
  • Families are responsible for checking Band messages regularly.

🎶 Studio Conduct

George Guitars is a positive, respectful learning environment.

  • Students are expected to treat instructors and other students with respect.
  • We do not tolerate bullying, hate speech, racism, or discrimination of any kind.

🚫 Right to Refuse Service

George Guitars reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service to any individual whose behavior is disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate.

🔄 Policy Updates

Policies may be updated as the studio grows. Any changes will be communicated through the website and the Band App.
