Music lessons in Harrison, AR - EFA Learns Approved Vendor

We are now Arkansas EFA Learns Act approved!  “Our goal is to provide a full music experience… not just learning notes. We want to teach students, both children and adults, to FEEL music and understand what it takes to be a musician and not just someone who makes music. We have real world experience to teach aspects of the music industry you won’t find in other traditional schools – things like how to break into the business when you’re ready, how to “chart” music, how to build up a social media fan base, and how to really dig deep when you’re writing a song. We believe that music is more than just notes… it’s a lifetime of learning and living it!”

Private in-person lessons (one-on-one) are 30 minutes long once per week at George Guitars in Harrison, AR. Classes are billed monthly regardless of the number of weeks in a month. Students of ALL ages and experience are welcome.

If you would like to do one-on-one classes online on your own time, check out our online lessons! See below for current classes and pricing.

Randall George

2018 Arkansas Country Music Association Guitar Player of the Year

Guitar / Bass / Drums Instructor

Randall played on his first album at 6, when he was the drummer for his parents gospel band. They toured and traveled all over for many years until 1995 when Randall and his brother, Dawayne, settled into playing music 6 nights a week at the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down in Eureka Springs. In 2006 he took on an extra role as a comedian under the pseudoname, “P. Nutt”, which is why you’ll still hear many kids and adults refer to him by this name.  Randall and Dawayne became owners of the theater in 2004 and later sold it in 2014 to pursue their career as the George Brothers on the road.

Randall is currently touring 2 to 4 nights a week in AR, MO, KS, OK, TX, and CO. He has over 100k global followers online with through his two Facebook pages, (Randall George and George Brothers), TikTok, and YouTube show, “The TeleTime Show.” He offers online courses as well as in-person lessons and will be doing several guitar workshops and performances at the studio in 2024.

Studio Policies and Payment Agreement

All lessons are one-on-one 30 minute classes. These classes are billed at $125/monthly (or $100/monthly per class if taking more than one class per family) regardless of the number of classes in a month. Payments are due on the 1st of every month. A late payment of $10 will be assessed if payment is more than 10 days past due. We generally follow Harrison school district’s policies for inclement weather and dismissal for holidays, but at times we will be in session even when schools are closed. When a student can’t make their regular class, they are allowed to switch to a different class during the same week if spots are available. If you are unable to make a class, we ask that you provide 12 hours notice. We will do our best to make up any classes that have given at least 12 hours prior notice of absence. In general, we do reschedule classes for no shows or those with less than 12 hours notice of absence. We will sometimes make exceptions. If a student is absent or we cancel a class in a month that has 5 weeks of classes, we will not make up the extra class. In months that have 5 weeks, we will only do 4 sessions. We will either be closed for the 5th session or we will use it for rescheduled classes. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. We are a no drama studio and strive to keep a happy and positive environment for everyone. We expect students to be respectful to one another in class. We do not tolerate hate, bullying, racism, or discrimination.

Guitar/Bass

Instructor: Randall

Randall’s modern approach to guitar and bass lessons include basic theory, but quickly dive into ear training and the Nashville Number System. For more advanced players classes include playing specific styles and licks. All ages welcome!

Guitar lessons can be played with either an acoustic or electric guitar and vary depending on the level of the student. Lessons may include hearing pitch, basic music theory, reading/writing the Nashville Number System, playing by ear, learning rhythm, playing single notes, playing chords, playing styles (country, jazz, blues), and playing with dynamics for performance.

Drums

Instructor: Randall

You do not need to own a drum set to begin drum lessons! Randall learned to play drums using stacks of magazines… he can teach you to play no matter what kind of “drums” you have!

Drum lessons vary depending on the level of the student. Lessons may include feeling rhythm, reading/writing the Nashville Number System, playing by ear, playing basic patterns, playing full songs, styles (country, pop, jazz, blues), and playing with dynamics for performance.

Vocal Coaching

Instructor: Leslie

Leslie teaches non-traditional lessons with an emphasis on vocal performance. In addition to basic principles such as pitch, breathing, vibrato, and dynamics, she also teaches stage performance/entertainment, movement/coordination, and how to portray a message and invoke a feeling through music rather than just singing it.  All ages welcome!

Piano

Instructor: Leslie

These lessons are also non-traditional in their format. If you’re looking for traditional lessons based on sheet music and theory, please message for recommendations! There are some wonderful local instructors that teach that style. If you’re looking for something different, Leslie teaches basic theory and quickly moves into ear training and the Nashville Number System. You’ll learn to play a song in just one lesson and will be learning how to play as a modern band member rather than a classical soloist.

Songwriting

Instructor: Leslie

Leslie’s songwriting lessons focus on helping students express their unique voice and ideas through original music. Students will learn how to craft lyrics with meaning, develop strong melodies, create chord progressions, and structure songs for maximum impact. Lessons also explore storytelling, emotional connection, how to write in different genres and styles, AI usage in songwriting, learning to record demos, pitching songs, publishing, copyrights, and more . Whether you’re new to writing or looking to refine your skills, these sessions are designed to inspire creativity and give you the tools to bring your songs to life. All ages welcome!
